The Partners for Youth Foundation in association with Anthony Baker, Incorporated (ABI) hosts theannualMiss Jamaica Florida Pageant. The Partners for Youth Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to the enhancement and advancement of young women locally and internationally.
This event is an annual fundraiser held to facilitate donations to orphanages, hospitals and other charitable organizations.
Particular importance is placed on the performing arts and cultural development. One of our objectives is to promote the Arts through an annual, non-renewable scholarship to a college or university student, majoring in an area of Performing Arts such as Music, Theatre, or Dance. Each year, we proudly recognize and honor a promising young lady with a cash scholarship to help her to realize her dream.
Pageant winners are referred to as Ambassadors of goodwill. Ambassadors have enjoyed celebrity in Jamaica, Canada and the United States. Many have gone on to enjoy success in academia, modeling, entertainment, and business.
The Miss Jamaica Florida Pageant is open to all Jamaican born young women or those of Jamaican parentage. It is not a beauty pageant; it is an avenue to build self-confidence and reward the young ladies of South Florida for their talent, poise, and achievements.
"I am blessed to have entered the Miss Jamaica Florida pagaent in 2005. This pageant helped me blossom from a shy caterpillar into a butterfly. The experience of entering brought forth confidence I never knew I had. The staff encouraged me and made me feel comfortable to perform in front of an audience and I made many new friends as we bonded each week."
